FOLK BOP™
Folk-Bop™ is a new music genre coined, created, and trademarked by the group Whydahfam?. Some describe it as genre-bending music. Some refer to it as backyard family music. We see it as an amalgamation of sound influenced by Rhythm & Blues, Calypso, Rock Steady, Hip Hop, Gospel, Jazz, Country, and of course, Folk music. Folk-Bop™ was formulated during the Covid lockdown of 2020 by Whydahfam?, culminating in two volumes of original songs.
Folk-Bop™ the NFT Vol 1 is the first-ever collection of this new genre consisting of six songs.
The family group Whydahfam?, wrote, sang, and co-produced all of the songs on the project. Joining Whydahfam? on the project is the accomplished Grammy winner Efrain "E-Flat" Gonzalez. Efrain contributed with the keyboard, bass guitar, electric and acoustic guitar, production, and engineering. Emerging new artist, Justin Dee, lends his sweet trumpet talents to "Carbohydrates In My Head." The phenomenal Oscar Dunamel infuses his saxophone into "Carbohydrates In My Head" and "Isaiah 54:17". The legendary Lou Perez blesses "Isaiah 54:17" with his Grammy-winning and highly acclaimed trombone.
We hope that our sound brings you happiness and good vibes.
As we say, "We Rock, We Knock, We Folk-Bop™."
